What we do

At Learning Design Collective LLC, we facilitate collaborative, accessible, and accountable practices like co-design, human-centered design, design-based research, and more -

that work to heal complex clinical, educational, and social challenges and help communities move toward a just future.

We offer:

  • Speaking

  • Workshops

  • Consulting and advising

  • Project/product incubation

The Design Difference

Design involves cycles of listening, dreaming, visioning, constructing, and testing solutions to human problems.

Healthcare is full of complex, persistent problems like inequity, conflicting priorities, and historical tensions between health systems and communities. Many healthcare professionals want to do the right thing.

But how do you build innovative solutions when we’re still using the traditional problem-solving mindsets that brought us here?

Design helps us move beyond good intentions into equitable, principled actions.

Design is:

practical

rapid

creative

scrappy

systematic

optimistic

principled

Our Principles

Our work is guided by Design Justice, a set of collaboratively-created principles curated by the Design Justice Network:Design justice rethinks design processes, centers people who are normally marginalized by design, and uses collaborative, creative practices to address the deepest challenges our communities face.”

As practitioners of Design Justice, we commit to the following:

  • *This principle guides our mission at Learning Design Collective.
